Types of electronic signature in Peru
Simple electronic signature
Any electronic symbol or process adopted with the intent to be bound to the document (Law 27,269). It is valid for private agreements; Firmiu's audit trail supplies the evidence of authorship.
Digital signature (IOFE)
Generated within the Official Electronic Signature Infrastructure with a certificate accredited before INDECOPI. It enjoys a presumption of non-repudiation and equals a handwritten signature for all purposes.
Electronic ID (DNIe)
The identity document issued by RENIEC includes digital certificates for signing within the IOFE. Useful for government procedures; unnecessary for most private contracts.
What makes a signature valid in Peru?
